一、不要使用缩写词语

在正式或者是学术的写作当中，最好不要使用词语的缩写，例如：don't 在写作中写成do not，这样会使你的文章更加正式。

二、避免使用 there is / there are

我们来看几个例子

a. There are many issues that students face at university.

把 there are 换掉变成

Students face many issues at university.

b.There are many development projects that the UN supports.

把 there are 换掉变成

The UN supports many development projects.

不使用there is / there are ，把这些额外的单词删去，你的句子会变的更加简洁有力更加直击重点。

三、避免使用 really, very, a lot, so

这些词或词语也会使你的文章变的无力

来看几个例句

a. Many students think university is very hard.

这里very hard 可以用一个更直接的词语描述

Many students think university is difficult.

b. Bill 399 is really controversial.

这里really可以直接删去

四、尽量使用主动语态，减少使用被动语态

a. Healthcare reforms were implemented by Obama.

把被动语态改为主动

Obama implemented ealthcare reforms.

b. The war was won by the French.

把被动语态改为主动

The French won the war.

被动式的句子看起来有一些笨拙和无力，想让句子更有力可以直接把句子的重点放在主语，用主动语态去完成这个句子。

五、使用“强势”动词

强势动词你也许会看不明白是什么意思

举几个例子你就能明白了

弱势动词:

He gave assistance to my friend.

强势动词:

He assisted my friend.

他帮助了我的朋友。

在第一种表达里，assistance是个名词，而在第二种表达里，assist是个动词。如果你发现第一种表达中的名词有动词形式，使用动词形式会让你的句子更加简洁有力。
